Behind every great customer experience is someone who genuinely cares—and for many FastComet clients, that someone is Aleksandar. Entrusted to keep a sharp eye on our Shared Hosting customers’ resource usage, he is there to notify them in case anything demands their attention. He is also a part of our stellar Customer Success team, bringing a mix of tech savvy, storytelling spirit, and a seriously impressive coffee routine to everything he does.
With a strong background in web development and an endless curiosity for everything from bookbinding to mythology, he brings a one-of-a-kind energy to our team. Let’s take a peek into his world—from solving customer puzzles to writing epic fantasy plots on the side.
Please tell us a little about yourself, your role, and what a typical day looks like, Aleksandar?
Hey everyone! My name’s Aleksandar and I’m a super dynamic person with a passion for juggling all kinds of hobbies and interests. I’m also proud to be part of the awesome FastComet Customer Success team! My day usually kicks off with a heavy dose of caffeine and from there, it’s a non-stop ride of solving problems, collaborating with my amazing colleagues, and keeping things running smoothly. Lately, I’ve been diving deeper into our Observer Monitoring System—which I absolutely love! So if you’ve ever received one of those resource usage emails…yep, that was probably me keeping an eye on things behind the scenes!
How did you get started in this field? What led you to this company?
Early on, one of my biggest passions was creating websites. I started building applications such as ecommerce and blogs but my favorite of them all is probably the project I have for J.R.R Tolkien Library. It was built with pure JavaScript and the help of Bootstrap.
So, joining FastComet felt like the perfect fit from day one! I’ve always been someone who finds genuine joy in helping others—there’s just something incredibly rewarding about connecting with people, hearing their challenges, and working together to find the best solution. I guess you could say that passion for problem solving and people is exactly what led me to FastComet!
What is a valuable lesson you have learned in your career so far?
This is perhaps something I learnt for myself: the importance of adaptability. No matter how well you plan, things often shift, whether it’s priorities, technologies, or team dynamics. Early on, I used to resist change, but I’ve come to see it as a chance to grow and improve. Being flexible has not only made me more resilient but also changed my point of view on a lot of topics professionally and personally.
Is there anything fun or unexpected about you that your colleagues might not know?

Uhhh, I sing in the shower! Ha, no, seriously, I’m a huge geek. Whenever I’m in the mood I can devour literature, learn new games, watch twelve hours of series and start googling things so I can get more details or figure out why a specific chapter went the way it did. I recently started a new hobby, “Book binding” . It requires a lot of time but it is immensely fun.
And how does a day outside of work look like for you?
My weekends begin with about half a liter of home made dark coffee. Depending on the day, after about 30 minutes of browsing around Instagram, I’m actually ready to begin. Never been a morning person but since the beginning of last year that aspect magically changed when I started running. I love a good run and I’m always trying to find a gap where I can go out for a little bit. I love playing an audio book or poetry filled with beautiful quotes as I jog.
Doing research on random historical topics and events is something else I involve myself with. Let me hit you with something interesting. Did you guys know that ice cream’s roots trace back to China and Arabians? I am also trying to create my own fantasy world.

Additionally, I’m trying to create my own fantasy world. It is about a middle aged man called Alphonso, who wakes up in a corn field with amnesia. The only thing he has in his possession is a grimoire, full of incantations. He wanders in search of an answer and in parallel there is another story 500 years later, about his grandson Eaden. He was left in front of a church with a necklace and a leather book. At the end of book one Eaden discovers a portal and he meets with his grandfather, which is where it gets really interesting as they are starting to unwrap all the mystery of Alphonse’s amnesia. I’m doing a lot of research on dead cultures and mythology to help me build the whole world.
Then, by lunch time I’m outside, ready for my second or third coffee, having a chat with friends and talking about movies or books that we adore. Any days with good weather I’m probably outside. When night falls I put on my headset and try to keep up with the trends of tactical/shooter games such as TeamFight Tactics, Apex Legends, etc. I’m always ready to 1v1 anybody who thinks is better than me at CS2, too.
Is there a personal goal or achievement you are most proud of or looking forward to?

Good question! I’m not sure I have a good answer for it. I’m really proud of not limiting myself and staying open minded, always finding time for the people around me, ready to listen and support them. Something I’m really looking forward to is getting old. I have this plan of opening a cozy, two-floor victorian theme cafe with a big library section and bakery.
What advice would you give to someone interested in your career path, Aleksandar?
I will do you one better with some universal wisdom I keep in my back pocket for moments like these: “follow your dreams”. Yep, it sounds cheesy, but hear me out. It might get hard, doubts might creep in, and maybe even an existential crisis or two might pop out. However, trust me, when you look back and see how far you’ve come, it’ll all be so worth it. Keep chasing what lights you up, you’ve got this!
Words to Remember
Whether he’s monitoring servers, crafting epic worlds, or challenging you to a round of CS2, Aleksandar reminds us all that curiosity, passion, and staying true to what you love is what really makes a career (and life) rewarding. Got a passion you’re juggling alongside your career? Don’t hold back—chase it. And if you ever get a resource alert, know someone awesome is out there keeping things running just for you.
Aleksandar’s journey shows that staying curious and kind never goes out of style. We’re lucky to have him—and now, you’ve officially met the legend behind the dashboard.
